Very detailed storyboard. I particularly like the way you have it set up with showing amount of time, transitions, etc.
I like all the dialogues you created. Very detailed and I can imagine the completed projects with this storyboard.
I am immensely impressed with your storyboard. You have done a very though job laying out your plan. AET sounds very interesting. I have yet to do anything in a virtual world, second life or multiple player games. As a Digital Immigrant (DI) it all seems a little weird to me and, for the moment, have very little interest in exploring virtual worlds. I’m not sure why. Perhaps as DI I am maybe less comfortable presenting myself as an alter ego through an avatar that is younger, stronger, smarter, etc., than I actually am. I suppose the main factor is that the real world has always seemed quite fine to me. What are the advantages of having a virtual 3D learning experience?
Thank-you for the kind words on the story board. I am hoping that the time spent will be a benefit when I put it together. I am having trouble getting a new computer on time, so I may have to leave out the HD part, but we are educators so we are flexible and always have a plan B :)
I think the advantage of the 3D virtual learning experience is the collaboration and the resources all in one location. You also have the feeling of perspective that is not in a discussion board. You also have options in world. You can have "face-to-face" discussions or you can use discussion boards. You can actually do experiments and work as a team to build things and problem solve in a "hands on" way. I have been extremely impressed with the in world university. I don't have much use for the "social world" of second life, but from what I can see for professional development and my professional organizations in world, it has the potential of allowing me to be more involved since traveling to the states is not really an option at this time due to cost. I do like the social aspect in this part of Second Life. I think you just have to stick to what is comfortable for you in that environment. I also see a great potential for teaching in this environment. There will be some examples in my video.
One more thing about Second Life. It has been very challenging and time consuming learning how to even get acclimated into the world so that you don't stick out as a newbee. I have a very difficult time walking there due to how slow my computer connection is in world. I end up in the water a lot :)
